You can also take part in the conference call by using your computer.

After the call, you'll be able to listen to the conversation as well.

Unfortunately the Barr campaign had to cancel the planned appearance and events in Harrisburg on Wednesday, October 8. There will be no event at the Penn State Harrisburg campus nor will Bob appear on PCN. The Meet and Greet event at the Harrisburg Hilton is also cancelled.

We regret that Bob Barr will not be in Harrisburg, however Libertarian Auditor General Candidate Betsy Summers will still be appearing on PCN at 7:00 pm on Wednesday, October 8, so be sure to tune in then.

It appears the visit to the Scranton/Wilkes-Barre area on Friday October 10 has been changed to a visit to Pittsburgh, with an event at Carnegie Mellon University. We will pass along more information as it becomes available.

We regret any inconvenience caused by the last-minute changes, and hope we can get the visit re-scheduled in the near future.

Sincerely,
Michael J. "Mik" Robertson
Chair, Libertarian Party of Pennsylvania

Buzz says:

Radio interview cancellation is not new - talk show producers have been getting calls from the McCain camp all over the country, threatening them with denial of access to McCain, Palin and the entire GOP campaign if Bob is given air time.

Be prepared for last minute cancellations. Good luck.

Bill Ogden's email rant:
Dear Mr. McCain,

This is in response to the letter that you sent me published below my note:

The 2 major partys have hijacked American Liberty and you want me to ignore this fact?

You will never receive a vote or donation from me.

You have done this country a terrible disservice lately and I will be voting 3rd Party.

Don't tell me that I'll be throwing my vote away...you offer no solutions and your recent voting record and bankrupt leadership proves it as does most of the Democratic leadership.

I will vote with my heart and mind.

I recognize that there are 2 other presidential candidates who deserve the honor of my vote...Mr. Chuck Baldwin from the Constitution Party & Bob Barr from the Libertarian Party.

These 2 gentlemen deserve to be on the Debate floor right along with you and Barack.

Instead...they are not permitted to debate the issues...even though they are on 40+ state ballots. The duopoly is a horrible demonstration of what is wrong with our political process.

No longer will I be sold on, "The lesser of 2 evils"...evil is evil and thus I will go elsewhere.

No longer will I blindly accept or follow bankrupt leadership.

You Mr. McCain of all people, prided yourself as a, "Maverick".
You repeatedly told everyone that you are against pork barrel spending and ridiculous earmarks...yet you pushed as hard as anyone for a $1,000,000,000,000.00 bailout!

I would have had lots more respect for you if you showed a Real Independent streak as opposed to selling out Main Street.

I know a Maverick when I see one Mr. McCain...and you sir are not a Maverick!

The Republican party has left me and now I must shut the door and bid you farewell.

I'm mad as hell & will passionately use my 1st Ammendment right to verbalize my distaste for what is happening before our very eyes.

Now... I must treat you like the old confused girlfriend who keeps leaving messages on my answering machine begging for money and acceptance...your daily phone messages are desperate and embarrassing.

Even after you've cheated on me hundreds of times---your lack of dignity has no shame.

My faith in God compels me to pray for our country and our leaders. I will do this.

In the meantime I exhort you to step down.

Earlier on you got in the way of the political process by pretending to be a Leader but then took away our chance to vote for someone who has integrity.

In Liberty,

--William Ogden

PS: Your letter below contains no reason to send you money or vote for you. Again, you are a bankrupt leader who has nothing to offer Americans but more debt. Go away.

Scranton out.
Pittsburgh in.

snip of some emails:

Hi everyone,

Yes - that is, unfortunately, correct.

We looked for flights that would allow Bob to be in Pittsburgh and also make it to Scranton and simply cannot make the logistics work.

I understand this is not the news anyone wants. I certainly did not want to deliver it but we had to make a call and my job is to implement it.

I understand how much work has gone into the efforts. The decision to go to Pittsburgh instead was not made lightly and I cannot thank you enough for all you have done and continue to do.

As Mik noted, Pennsylvannia is a priority for us and we are still looking at the final week before the election. Depending on the polls, the fundraising, etc. we may very well have Bob there again before the election.

In the meantime, thank you for your understanding and patience. Let's have a great impact with Bob's visit to Pittsburgh!

Mike Ferguson

National Field Director
