The top five salaries at the PPS BOE encompass over half a million dollars. None of the top administrators are from Pittsburgh (with the exception of the new facilities manager) so none of them have any investment in the city or our children. Derrick Lopez is being paid over $10,000 a month to manage High School Reform, but what is he doing to earn his paycheck? Furthermore, why do they think the High Schools need reformed? Mark Roosevelt is just throwing away money and spending any way he wants. His good friend Randle Richardson (former chair of the Rep. Party in Texas) operates Clayton Academy on the North Side. His company, Community Education Partners,is getting paid $5.7 million per year for six years to operate a private school program populated by public school students in a public school. <BR/>Many of us are so quick to blame the problems on the students, but I have witnessed the way many of these students are treated in several of our schools, and I now see why so many of our students drop out.Mad Sistahhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09740707000690677549noreply@blogger.com
