TYR SPORT SIGNS 2X OLYMPIC MEDALIST LIA NEAL

Seal Beach, CA — August 24, 2017 — TYR Sport is proud to announce the signing of 2x Olympic medalist Lia Neal to its roster of sponsored athletes.

Born and raised in Brooklyn, New York, Lia garnered worldwide attention in 2012 when she earned a bronze medal for her swim in the 100-meter freestyle relay at the Summer Olympic Games in London. Still a high school student, Neal became the first swimmer from Asphalt Green Unified Aquatics (AGUA) Swim Team, where she had been swimming since the age of eight, to both make and medal in the Olympic Games.

However, Neal was only just beginning to set herself apart. As a member of Stanford University Women's Swimming & Diving, Lia earned a national championship title every year since 2014. She finished her collegiate career as a nine-time National Champion, winning three of those titles this year.

In 2016 Lia qualified for her second Summer Games, this time in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. As a member of the women's 400-meter freestyle relay Neal earned her first Olympic silver medal. Since Rio she has continued to increase her international presence with major swims including a gold medal performance in the 400-meter freestyle relay at the 2017 FINA World Championships. She is currently a 6x World Championship medalist.

Today, Lia joins a growing roster of standout swimmers including 12x Olympic medalist Ryan Lochte, 7x Olympic medalist Dana Vollmer, 6x Olympic medalist Matt Grevers, 2x Olympic medalist Leah Smith, 2x Olympic medalist Cody Miller, Olympic gold medalist Kelsi Worrell and Olympic gold medalist Tom Shields. To date team TYR has earned a total of 35 Olympic and 193 World Championship medals.

"I am very happy to announce my partnership with TYR. This is truly the fulfillment of a lifelong dream for me, and I am thrilled to see what the future holds." said Neal.

"We are proud to welcome Lia Neal to the team TYR family," began Chief Executive Officer Matt DiLorenzo. "At a young age she has already proven herself to be an incredible talent, and we are looking forward to supporting her as she continues to grow as an athlete."

Fwd: Back-to-School event: Playing well with others is a skill set that we all still need to teach and practice.

Hi Friends:

Did you see the wonderful article in a recent Post-Gazette about Swim & Water Polo?

+ + +

In my opinion, we need to:

-> TEACH,
-- > PRACTICE,
---> Model,
----> LEARN,
-----> and CHAMPION community skills that express the concepts of

*** PLAYING WELL WITH OTHERS! ***

+ + +

Across American and around our city, we need to work hard and insure that everyone can play well with others.

So, let's do it on Monday at #WeArePPS, a back-to-school special event at Langley K-8 School. Langley is at 2940 Sheraden Blvd, Pittsburgh, PA 15204.

Bring your swim suit, towel and optional goggles. We'll swim indoors and play a full-pool SKWIM game.I'll bring the disks, fins and head bands. We'll flash the lights to simulate the eclipse -- or something.

Varsity swimmers -- from anywhere -- are needed to assist.

Tonight, Thursday, at 6 pm is the final outdoor water polo game at Citiparks Ammon Pool, Bedford Ave & Memory Lane. We've had a wonderful summer there. Thanks Citiparks.

In the fall, we'll start up the Saturday Swim School.

Here's another example of just how nefarious and persistent neoliberalism is in attempting to distort reality in order to usher in policies intended to support corporate as opposed to individual or worker interests.  But, as the second article implies, neoliberal policies almost always lead to outcomes in which economies collapse and corporate malfeasance is rewarded while individuals are harmed and left unprotected by government.  The second article should also serve as a warning to anyone expecting their personal retirement accounts to continue to grow.  In these situations debt is a killer.

Fwd: Book Musial Moments for your school

---------- Forwarded message ----------
From: St. Louis Sports Commission's Sportsmanship Foundation

Book Musial Moments for your school
Musial Moments at "The J" in Creve Coeur
The St. Louis Sports Commission has created an innovative program fostering civility, respect and selflessness among young people in the St. Louis region. Inspired by the great Stan Musial, the organization is visiting schools in the metro area to introduce the concept of "Musial Moments" and to instill the qualities of sportsmanship on and off the field.
Presentations are led by Solomon Alexander (a.k.a. The Sportsmanship Guy), the director of the Sports Commission's Sportsmanship Foundation. Through a fun and interactive 45-minute session, students are motivated to care about sportsmanship and to be good to those around them - just as Stan the Man did during his illustrious career and life.
Funding from Sports Commission supporters enables this program to be offered at no cost to participating groups. To bring Musial Moments to your school or youth organization, call 314-345-5130 or email salexander@stlsports.org.
