---- Forwarded message ------

Making The Tiger Roar!!!

Calling all parents, grandparents, aunties & uncles! We have a couple of hours worth of free entry-level learning courses where you can introduce the kids in your life to coding. Work with them to make the tigers roar or the piano play in our SoundBoard LiveCode learning courses…

During these times maybe you are searching for educational ways to keep your kids entertained, or ideas to stay connected with your grandkids or nieces and nephews remotely. We've got something that can help.

Last weekend I tried it with my nieces...

Find out how they did, learn all about the courses and how to access them in the latest blog post on LiveCode.com

Fwd: Greg Greenway Live Streaming Event Schedule

----- Forwarded message ---
From: Greg Greenway

Greg Greenway Live Streaming Schedule
 on the web:
My very first streaming concert was a huge learning experience. I've
stepped up my efforts to get the sound and the connection with the
listeners as real as possible. I had such a tremendous response from
folks all over North America and from every stage of my career, that
I've decided to follow up with a concert I'm calling Songs from the
Beginning
. These are songs from the origins of my musical journey,
songs sung at the Nameless Coffeehouse and Passim in Harvard Square,
Cambridge, at Brandeis University, at Brevard College, and in my friends'
living rooms. Amazingly enough, people wanted to hear the old songs.

So, on Thursday April 30, 2020 from 7:30 - 9pm EDT I'm going to honor
this connection. The link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/81294747630
Again, I'll be able to get questions and requests through the chat function,
but I've already got an entire set list's worth of requests - some songs I
had totally forgotten. But the people haven't. You can respond to this
email and I'll get it. You can also go to my FaceBook page and see the
ongoing conversation (https://www.facebook.com/greg.greenway.18).

You do not need to download Zoom for this. It should all happen just by
clicking on the link. If you're worried, I have a PDF for you that shows what
you'll encounter.

If you recognize Winds of Change, Let It Roll, Summer Song, Johannesburg,
Massachusetts, Free at Last, and Falling
, we'll have a trip down memory
lane together. If you've never heard them, here's your chance. So many
people remember them... and that fills my folksinger heart.

Hope to be with you on every other Thursday evening for the foreseeable
future. Everything is up in the air, so we'll see if I can hold to that schedule.
I want every time we can be together to be special. So I'll work very hard
to make that happen.

Highly recommended movie on the environment, as per John H

I have not yet watch this movie, but it is on my list due to John H's suggestion.

Michael Moore has produced a new movie, Planet of Humans, about the environmental movement now streamed on YouTube.  One in which he (thankfully) does not appear.  It is exceptional – well worth the hour and forty minutes it runs and do watch all of the credits as they contain additional information.

I apologize if you are receiving this for the second (or even third) time as I received it from two different sources.

What better way to spend your lockdown time? Give yourself a new skill. LiveCode University assumes no past experience programming. You will start with the basic principals of computational thinking and build up step-by-step.

The course content was created by Brigham Young University and has been taught there successfully for several years. The skills you learn will make it easier for you to learn many other languages and technologies in the future if you choose to.

Learning Outcomes

  • And more…

In addition to the topics above, the course contains many practical examples and tasks for you to work through. It also includes quizzes that you can use to check your comprehension as you go.

"Swimming" Sunday
with room for all!

We got so many requests to offer an additional workshop on this song that is a favorite of so many and here it is!

1pm PT/4pm ET Today
"Learn An Emma's Revolution Song",
the "Swimming to the
Other Side"
Reprise
with Room for All!

Join us on Zoom (500-device capacity) or watch via simultaneous livestream on our Facebook page. We'll also post the session video to our YouTube channel, afterwards.

The Zoom invite is below and no reservations are required. This is a recurring meeting, so you can use the same info for every Sunday's session.

Download lyrics and chords, here. We sing "Swimming to the Other Side" in C and the chords in C are there for you to play along with, on any instrument. Folks who play guitar and use a capo can also play along with either of us, using these chord and capo setups:

Pat capos at the 5th fret and plays the song in G chord shapes
Sandy capos at the 10th fret and plays the song in D chord shapes

Both of these setups create the sounding of the song in the key of C. And, if none of this makes sense to you, no worries! We'll explain it at the session.

Please add enews@emmasrevolution.com to your address book so you can continue to receive our newsletters, as we move forward, together!
