This is an unprecedented time in our history. The COVID-19 pandemic is having an impact on the health of our loved ones, the businesses we rely upon, the health of the global economy, and the way we live our daily lives. As we all continue to navigate through these unique and evolving challenges, we want you to know that PayPal is here for you.

Coming together as a Community

In our more than 20 years of business, we've weathered with you the storms of the dot com bust, 9/11, the 2008 financial crisis and the recession that followed, major weather events and wild fires that have touched all parts of the world, and government shutdowns — and throughout this shared journey we have worked to support and sustain our employees, our customers and our partners. As we address a pandemic that will no doubt become a chapter in the history books, our commitment to you will not waver.

Many businesses today are stepping up to help, because no one business can do it alone. We're calling on companies across the financial ecosystem, to come together to help the most vulnerable during this crisis. We all need to support our employees and look for ways to help our customers navigate these waters. In the last few months, we've seen generosity and kindness, intergenerational support and solidarity, and remarkable fortitude. It is during times like these that courage and generosity and resilience make a difference.

We are here to help our customers

If you are a PayPal customer and are unsure of how you will pay your PayPal Credit bill this month, or need assistance on how best to send money safely and affordably to friends and family, we want to help. You can find immediate answers to your questions on the PayPal Help Center, or by clicking "Help" located on any PayPal page or email.

We stand ready to help you with safe, secure and affordable digital payment services as you navigate these uncertain financial times:

Person-to-person (P2P) payments are a quick, safe and easy way to send and receive money with PayPal and Venmo.

Xoom allows you to send money quickly, securely and safely to support your loved ones who live in other countries.

With PayPal you can donate online or on your phone to the charities helping fight the cause.

Look for Purchase Protection and Return Shipping on Us where available when buying and paying online. PayPal will never ask you for any of your personal information on an approved merchants' site.

If you are looking for other local product offerings that can help you, please go to your local PayPal or Xoom site, or PayPal, Xoom and Venmo apps, to learn more.

Supporting the small business community, the backbone of our economy

Digital payments have become a lifeline for businesses of every size as more and more businesses and their customers adopt new mobile and in-store technology. As businesses venture into new ways of selling, they are finding that digital payments are proving to be a trusted way to accept payments safely and securely. We are continuously exploring ways to help our small business merchants navigate these times with adjustments to existing products based on business conditions and customer needs. During this period of uncertainty, PayPal is able to provide access to 305 million active customer accounts around the world and ensure that you can transact safely and confidently, and with the highest conversion rates in the payments industry. We have been with you at every step along the way to provide the reliability, security and service you need, and we will stay at your side now.

If you are a PayPal or iZettle business and are feeling unusual pressure on your cash flow, our PayPal business financing solutions or iZettle Advance may be able to help. We have customer service experts that can help guide you, give recommendations and share advice. Go to the PayPal or iZettle website to learn more.

I hope all of you will join PayPal in supporting the community of merchants who are selling online, or are working hard to adjust their business models to support you.

Taking care of our employees, who serve you every day

Supporting our PayPal employees during this crisis period is critical to providing you with the services you need and expect. We have taken action as COVID-19 has spread, to protect the physical well-being and financial security of our employees so that they are in a position to care for their health while also supporting our customers. Many employees are now working remotely, and we will also be transitioning several of our customer service centers to this remote working structure. As these employees make the transition, we might see an impact on wait times for our phone or email service. During this time, you can find immediate answers to your questions on the PayPal Help Center. We greatly appreciate your patience and understanding as we work through this together. The commitments we have made to support and care for our employees will ensure that we are ready and equipped to also support our customers during these uncertain times.

How else can we help?

We know consumers and businesses of all sizes are under stress and that some of you are facing significant hardship. We are working to find new ways to meet your needs and will draw on our technology and resources to make a difference for you. Please visit the PayPal Newsroom Hub to find helpful resources to help you navigate our products and tools during this unprecedented time.

Thank you for being a PayPal customer – and for the trust you place in us every day.

Call for Workshop Proposals
Deadline for Submission:
Wednesday, April 15, 2020
Greetings Mark:
First, we at the National Summer Learning Association (NSLA) would like to acknowledge that this is a unique and unprecedented time across the world, and dynamics and circumstances are rapidly changing day by day. We are in contact with partners and allies daily in our field around strategies to support schools, families and students. We will continue to stay in touch in the coming days and weeks with important news and resources. Please feel free to reach out to us with updates, suggestions, questions or needs you have as well.

Now more than ever, America will be looking to summer learning programs and leaders for solutions to support the growth and education of our young people. We are all innovating and adjusting to new circumstances to carry on our work. Providing a space to share and learn, and building a network of support for our legion of out of school time leaders will be critical as we move towards strengthening and sustaining our field and programs.

Our annual national conference Summer Changes Everything™ is such a space. It will be held in Washington, DC, November 16-18, 2020 at the historic Mayflower Hotel. We are opening our call for session proposals. NSLA seeks creative, relevant and dynamic proposals for conference sessions that will enable the growing field of out-of-school time professionals to share what they have done and learned during these recent experiences and to build, strengthen, and expand life-changing summer opportunities for all young people.

The workshop sessions will advance evidence-based practices, effective partnership strategies, and leadership development at every level, as well as examine learning trends and policy implications that will have a direct impact on your work.

The deadline for proposal submissions is Wednesday, April 15, 2020.
All NSLA workshops will fall into one of the following content strands:

  • Program Quality - Engage participants in developing quality at the program level by providing concrete tools supported by research and/or specific examples from the field.
  • Policy, Research & Advocacy - Highlight trends and achievements in summer learning research, policy, and advocacy at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Partnerships and Community System Building - Offer practical tips and highlight research on how community-wide education systems, with a focus on out-of-school time, can lead to more youth served, high quality programs, and positive outcomes at scale.
  • Leadership, Equity and Organizational Management Share lessons and resources on being an effective and inclusive leader, managing staff, fundraising operations, marketing and organizational challenges.

Instructions for Submitting a Presenter Proposal

  • All proposals are to be submitted using the online form.
  • The online proposal form can be saved after you have begun working. Be sure to save your log-in credentials so you can sign back in to update, make changes, and submit additional proposals
  • If you have any problems or questions, please contact NSLA conference team at NSLAconference@summerlearning.org for assistance.

This year, Summer Changes Everything™ is in Washington, DC and we want you to stay in the know about registrations dates, travel accommodations, featured speakers, workshop offerings, and more.

Learn More

6-8 Game Viewing & Scoring Practice.

We have created a new 4- day per week program that allows athletes to watch high quality water polo game footage on our 6-8 YouTube channel and use the game scoring feature on the 6-8 app to track a specific athlete in the game.

The program will officially begin this Wednesday, March 24. Follow our @68sports Instagram for updates!

Here's how it works:

  • on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, follow our @68sports Instagram stories to find out the link for that day's game footage (we will choose one quarter of a college or professional game and it will be uploaded to our 6-8 YouTube channel)

  • login to your account on the 6-8 Sports mobile app and click on "Game Scoring"

  • create a new game by clicking on the little + sign in the lower right hand corner

  • our Instagram stories will let you know what to name each game, what to name each team and also which specific athlete you will be tracking that day

  • start watching the game footage on YouTube and score the specific athlete on your 6-8 app

  • take a screenshot of your final game stats page and tag us on @68sports Instagram— each week we will have a raffle between all those that submitted the correct stats and one person will win a special 6-8 prize!

The benefits of this exercise:

  • stay in the water polo mindset

  • focus on a player and see how much you can learn about their moves and abilities

  • put yourself into the game by understanding rules and situations

  • ask questions like "what did I miss and why?"

  • as a kid, Tony's Dad always told him to watch a certain player and not just a game — this helped Tony to develop role models and learn new skills

Virtual Group Training Sessions.

We are also going to start offering Virtual Training sessions through Zoom with Tony and Ricardo Azevedo.

For this week (March 23 - 27) we will be running test sessions featuring Tony or Ricardo Azevedo at 10 am starting on Tuesday, March 24. All sessions are FREE and will be limited to the first 20 athletes that register.

To book your spot and receive your Zoom login information, please send an email to sara@azevedowaterpolo.com.

Starting next week, sessions will be scheduled for Monday through Friday at 10 am and will be 30 minutes in length.

Each session will be different and will include topics such as:

  • specific water polo theme
  • video breakdown
  • tactical and technical explanations
  • mental training and motivational focus

Stay tuned for more updates coming soon!

Private Virtual Training & Coaching with Tony

As a supplement to our group virtual training sessions, Tony will be offering a select number of private online classes. Sessions are 30 minutes in length, will be held over Zoom and can be scheduled at your convenience. YOU can decide what you would like to focus on or Tony can create a custom program. Subjects can include:

  • goal setting and individual mentoring
  • personal video breakdown and analysis
  • have Tony design your own custom "At Home" workout plan
  • get any and all questions answered

Take advantage of this unique moment in your career to focus on the little things that might have been ignored before. Emerge from this crisis smarter, more fit and better prepared than ever before!

$95 per session

Please email sara@azevedowaterpolo.com to reserve your session.

Let us know how we can help.

Fwd: An Update From FreeConferenceCall.com

Hi Everyone,

We wanted to provide an update. Millions of people around the world are hitting phone carrier systems and the internet at levels never before seen. This has resulted in some people experiencing busy signals whether calling in to a conference line or just trying to call friends and family. If you would like to help alleviate some of the strain here are some things you can do:

  • Download The Mobile App. Tap here to Download for iPhone, here to Download for Android. This will give you the ability to call in over WiFi. Our app also has smart call routing so when you dial-in using your phone we'll route you to carrier networks that have the most bandwidth.

  • Download The Desktop App. This lets you call in using your computer and also lets you stay better connected with screensharing and video conferencing. Tap the following link and scroll down to Download the Desktop App

  • Schedule meetings to start 15 or 45 minutes past the hour rather than on the hour. Carrier networks are less congested at these times. If you could please post this final tip out to your social networks it would be a huge help. Please use the hashtag #15or45. This will help not just us and our fellow conferencing companies but everyone in the United States who is trying to use phone networks.

We can't say it enough, thank you to all of you. You are the best community in the world.

Please stay safe, stay connected, and let us know how we can help.

Thank you,

Dave
