Fwd: Days and times for Fox Chapel Dive Club (FCDC) outdoor summer session 2021 @ Settlers Cabin Park's Dive Pool

Hello all!

WE ARE CLEARED TO HAVE SUMMER PRACTICES (AT SETTLERS CABIN) ON TUESDAY AND THURSDAY MORNINGS FROM 8AM - 1030AM.

THE FIRST PRACTICE IS TUESDAY JUNE 15TH, 2021.  Settlers cabin's address is: 1225 Greer Road Oakdale, PA 15071 - the dive pool is adjacent to the wave pool.

We will begin with a short talk about our sport, competitions this summer and options for workouts… then dryland warmup then in the pool.
You can pay the fee at Settlers which is $60 for the outdoor 2 1/2 hour workouts with cash, check or you can also use Apple Pay, cash app, zelle, and google pay using my phone # which is 412.352.2030 or my email above.

The summer outdoor practices will run through August 27th 2021. The divers will also have access to the 3 meter springboards and the platform complex with 5, 7.5 and 10 meter levels at the outdoor workouts.

This workout is 2 1/2 hours - a full hour longer than the Saturday workouts.  If any parent has concerns about the length of the practice, please email me directly and we can discuss alternative time frames.
There will still be the regular FCDC practices at FC high school every Saturday. There are two Saturday 1 1/2 hour sessions 3-430pm and 430-6pm.
The fee on Saturday for the regular times is $40 per session. There are also private (1-2 divers) and semi private one hour lessons.
The fee for private lessons is $60 for the practice and is also held at FC high school Saturdays 6-7pm.  If there is a lot of interest in private lessons please email me directly.

For those of you who would like to do three workouts a week - 2 outdoor and 1 indoor… if the entire month is paid up front by the 5th of each month, there will be a 15% discount bringing the monthly fee from $640 down to $544. This is the best choice for divers training for any competitions this summer such as the AAU nationals (no qualifying score!) being held at the WVU brand new natatorium which is an incredible facility.
Two or one workout a week will remain at the daily fees - $60 per 2 1/2 hour practices outdoors on Tuesdays and Thursdays and $40 per 1 1/2 hour practices on Saturdays.

ALL PRACTICES ARE SUBJECT TO WEATHER AND CONDITIONS PERMITTING
During diving practice, all parents and athletes will be expected to abide by all park and traffic regulations as well as any directives received from the county Police and Department of Parks personnel.

**This is the first FCDC workouts outdoors at Settlers Cabin so I will be continually working to better the club in all ways. If there are any suggestions please let me know!  I am open to all concerns and suggestions. It is a work in progress…

I want to thank all of you for supporting the Fox Chapel Dive Club.  I know that it will develop great divers while having fun!
Again please contact me if there are any questions you may have…
I am grateful for this opportunity and know that it will be a success.

***Please spread the word in case I have missed anyone on this group email***

Thank you,

Coach Vernon

Fwd: Apply Now for EPLC's 2021-22 Education Policy Fellowship Program!

--- Forwarded message -

Apply Now for EPLC's 2021-2022 PA Education Policy Fellowship Program!

Applications are available now for the 2021-2022 Education Policy Fellowship Program. The Education Policy Fellowship Program is sponsored in Pennsylvania by The Education Policy and Leadership Center (EPLC).

Similar to the 2020-2021 Program, the format and schedule of the 2021-2022 PA Education Policy Fellowship Program is changed from the traditional Fellowship Program held 1999 to 2019. The 2021-2022 Program will be conducted in briefer, more frequent, and mostly online sessions. In-person sessions are planned for the Gettysburg Battlefield and Army War College (October), Washington DC (April), and Harrisburg (May), with proof of Covid vaccination required for these events.

The online content will be substantially the same as the traditional Fellowship Program, with some changes necessitated by the online format and a desire to reduce costs to sponsors in these uncertain fiscal times. But with the new virtual format, the Program is able to broaden the scope of experience and perspective represented by our session leaders and guests.

The commitment of EPLC remains the same. The Fellowship Program will continue to be Pennsylvania's premier education policy leadership program for education, community, policy and advocacy leaders --- with more than 600 graduates since 1999.

The Fellowship Program begins with three-hour virtual morning sessions on September 17 and 24, and the Program ends with a graduation event in June 2022.

The application UPDATE THIS LINK may be copied from the EPLC web site, but it must be submitted by mail or scanned and e-mailed with the necessary signatures of applicant and sponsor.

If you would like to discuss any aspect of the Fellowship Program and its requirements, please contact EPLC Executive Director Ron Cowell at 412-298-4796 or COWELL@EPLC.ORG

You're Invited! PASSHE Consolidation Forum TONIGHT, 6/8 @ 6pm

Hello

Please join Keystone Research Center/PA Budget and Policy Center/We The People-PA, APSCUF, PAJB Workers United, PASSHE Defenders, Action Together NEPA, The HUB for Progress and United Students Against Sweatshops TONIGHT, Tuesday June 8 at 6pm for a panel discussion on the State System consolidation plan as well as an opportunity for a guided discussion around organizing against these efforts.

Register here.

The restructuring proposed for the PASSHE system will have a devastating impact on the economy of many counties and will undermine educational opportunity and the economic future of our state. We need to provide more access to higher education — not less. Especially in our rural communities and as we continue to fight back from COVID-19, we must give students every chance to succeed — and that starts with a high-quality and affordable college education.

At 6pm a panel of impacted stakeholders will discuss and answer questions regarding the proposed State System consolidation of Bloomsburg, Lock Haven, and Mansfield in the north and Edinboro, Clarion, and Cal U in the west. These consolidations of public higher education institutions will have lasting impacts on students, families, employees, and communities.

Confirmed speakers:

PBPC/We The People-PA - Katy Personette, Deputy Director of Campaigns

APSCUF - Sean Crampsie, Director of Government Relations / Melissa Stough, Kutztown University Student

PASSHE Defenders - Paul Berlet, Kutztown University Student

Register here: https://krc-pbpc-org.zoom.us/meeting/register/tJwpcOysrjwrHtzJ9M5z6uwQV2gjxOLLNRUs

Following that discussion we will break out into groups to discuss how you can be an advocate on this issue.

In Solidarity,

The KRC/PBPC/WTP-PA Team
