POWER OF THREE FUNDRAISER

If you desire to make a difference in the lives of children and students in need, then the opportunity is right here at your fingertips! Ron Snyder, an educator and cycling director at a local college prep school for at risk youth located in Stanton Heights, has organized a fundraiser to help benefit three very worthy causes that are near and dear to his heart.

WHEN: On September 21st and 22nd, three cyclists will be attempting to ride for 8 hours each across two days to complete as many miles as they can in 24 hours. The ride will run from 7:30am-7:30pm both Saturday and Sunday.

WHERE: The Bud Harris Cycling Track, located next to the Zone 5 Police Station on Washington Boulevard, Pittsburgh PA

WHO WE ARE CYCLING FOR:

The Neighborhood Academy is a faith-based, college preparatory, independent school whose mission is to break the cycle of generational poverty by empowering youth and preparing them for college and citizenship.

Pittsburgh Youth Leadership (PYL) is a non-profit organization established in 2006. Since its founding, PYL has been taking inner-city, low-income, at-risk youth on all expenses paid biking adventures across America's most breathtaking roads. When told what they would be doing, the children laughed and deemed it impossible. In thirteen years all participants have prevailed, and accomplished the seemingly impossible, showing them that they can do anything they set their mind to.

MISSION
Our mission is to support hospital complex care units, fund research for children with medical complexity, and provide family support for children who require complex and critical medical care.

VISION
Our vision is to improve the survival rate and quality of life for children with medical complexities. We strive to increase the availability of medical breakthroughs within our community and support families battling to meet the needs of their medically needy child.

HOW DO I DONATE?

There are two options to donate! The first one is a direct donation through the website GoFundMe. Below are the links to each respective organization.

Option two is making a pledge PER MILE that our three cyclists will travel over their 24 hour endeavor! In order to help people gauge their contributions, the cyclists have set their sights on 500 miles total for the 24 hour period (that's an average of just under 21 mph!).

To make a pledge per mile, simply email ron.snyder@theneighborhoodacademy.org with your pledge. Upon completion of the ride, you will be emailed with the total donation amount based on your figure. From there, you can choose to donate the entire total to one organization, or split it up amongst the others!

As of right now, we have a total of $2.95 pledged per mile. While any amount helps as these cyclists power through the miles, the goal is to get a total of $10 per mile pledged! Every little bit helps! Even if it is a penny per mile, your contribution MATTERS.

Thank you again for your time and attention to this wonderful cause, and we hope you can help turn this event into something that will make a difference in the lives of these children in need!

Sincerely,

Ron Snyder Jr.
