At least then, back in the days, some of the roads got done and there was a flimmer of accountability.

Can't even imagine how much recovery from the storms will cost the city. I have always said government at the local level is all about rock salt and asphalt, but when the roads clear everyone becomes very forgiving. I am presently not working, but marvel at how neighbors walking to the busway have a peppy stride despite not knowing if or when they will return home.
Up early, looking up 12th Street and we noticed workers shuffle down from the slopes to the main bus lines, bundled, semi hunker, sure footed, down the middle of the forsaken, covered road -- ekks. Made it look like ZOMBIES were out and walking the night.
I think today was the worst so far with the wind. Really cold. Not spending so much time outdoors today and miss it. Good news, the big snow blower is working better after putting air in the tires. Adding one more driveway around the corner to our list.
