 Dear Summer Learning Community,

Thank you to the thousands of NSLA school district, non-profit, government, corporate and philanthropic partners who worked so hard to make Summer 2023 extremely fun, educational and impactful for millions of low income students across the US.

NSLA staff have been traveling the nation visiting and learning from summer learning program partners creatively leveraging STEM, ArtsSportsMathCivics, Community Partners, Overnight camps, and College campuses to meet the varied needs and interests of America's students.

We look forward to welcoming senior leaders from all different sectors at our upcoming Summer Learning Summit October 9-11, 2023 at the Mayflower Hotel and National Museum of African American History and Culture in Washington DC. Here is an overview of the schedule and new speakers and sessions are being added every day.

Our Mayflower Hotel block is nearly sold out and early bird registration rates will increase September 1. Please register yourself and your team today. A few Exhibitor and Sponsorship opportunities remain.  If you are a school or district looking to pay for your registrations via Purchase Order, please download it here. More information and updates are below.

Thank you again for your hard work, leadership and service to young people this summer. Your efforts have been seen, felt and greatly appreciated.

In Partnership,

Thank You and Good Luck to NSLA's Summer Interns!
NSLA was honored to work all summer with great alumni of summer learning program partners who came to Washington DC for NSLA's 10 week, all-expense paid, policy internship program. Thank you to our partners at the Managed Funds Association, the nominating programs, and internship host offices for supporting these young leaders.
The interns are inspiring advocates and examples of the power and impact high quality summer learning experiences can have on the lives of young people. We wish them all the best in their future endeavors. Applications for NSLA's 2024 Class of Summer Policy Interns will open in the Fall!

Where In The World is NSLA?
Brodrick Clarke, our VP of Programs recently spoke at the 21st Century Community Learning summer symposium, in New Orleans, LA. National Summer Learning Association was honored to recently visit with key partners, leaders and students from Partnership for Afterschool Education, Arts for Learning Maryland, Change Summer, TEACHERS IN THE PARKS and Rowan University in NY, DC, NJ, PA, TX, OK, AL.

All NSLA staff enjoyed site visits to learn more about our New York Life Foundation Excellence in Summer Learning Award finalists. We will announce the winners soon.

Whether they are highlighting and integrating arts, literacy, social emotional learning, civic engagement or overnight camp experiences on college campuses, these inspiring initiatives are all creatively using the summer months to promote educational equity, create opportunity and build community for thousands of young people who might not access these experiences otherwise.

See you at the Summit in October.
