View this email in your browser Dear Coach, For the past year, I've been working with Dr. Genadijus Sokolovas—Dr. G.—to build something swim coaches have never had before - a lesson program designed by one of the world's leading performance scientists specifically to produce better future swimmers for your team. Dr. G has spent decades analyzing world-class athletes and working with more than 100 Olympians. Together, we've built a system that applies that same thinking to the very beginning of the swimmer's pathway. It's called Everyone Swims! Here's what makes it different: Kids don't start in the water. They start moving on land.  Before every lesson, swimmers complete a dryland exercise progression that builds the physical foundations young swimmers usually struggle with like core strength, balance and body control, and awareness of body position. When they enter the water, they already understand the movement. Instead of guessing at strokes, they recognize the motion immediately. The result is simple: Kids learn faster, they learn to move more efficiently, and they develop a much stronger feel for the water. Every lesson follows a clear structure: 10 - 15 minutes of dryland exercises: building core strength and balance 25 - 30 minutes in the water: translating those movements directly into swimming By the time swimmers graduate, they arrive at your team with better body control and awareness and a much higher comfort level in the water. Which means less time fixing basics—and more time coaching swimming. Programs using this system run 45-minute lessons using only 30 minutes in the water, creating more value for families, economical use of a team's pool time, and the chance to charge more for longer lessons.  To support coaches implementing the system, the program also includes: Instructor certification focused on specific skill progressions Monthly Zoom sessions with coaches using the program A yearly conference focused on improving swim lesson systems To celebrate the launch of Everyone Swims!, we're offering an Initial Enrollment Period price of $299 (normally $599). Apple launched iOS 26.4, and with it, access to the new video experience within Apple Podcasts. Apple also confirmed additional podcast hosting companies will support HLS video: Podspace, Riverside, Ausha, and Firstory have been added to the list (see our story for the full set). Your iPhone will offer an update within the next few weeks; but you can update it today by following Apple's instructions. One of the podcast hosting companies supporting it, Transistor, has posted a guide; in a video, Stephen Robles shows the iOS experience. The absence of support from Spotify/Megaphone at launch may mean that many users won't see the shows they're expecting in video within the app (including shows like Joe Rogan and The Ringer titles); Apple says more content will roll out throughout the year. John Spurlock reports just 48 shows available in video at launch; the majority with Acast. The availability of video podcasts isn't promoted within the iOS update overview, though it is promoted when a user opens the Apple Podcasts app for the first time after upgrading. The Apple Podcasts web app (which also works on Android) has been updated to offer full video support; but the Apple Podcasts macOS app doesn't support HLS video. In the most glaring omission, the Apple TV doesn't support HLS video podcasting either. In a piece written in December 2024, Eric Johnson reminds us that video comes with trade-offs. About a quarter of Americans claim that they have never consumed a podcast. People News DAX US has named John Sardelis as SVP of Podcasts. He joins from Barometer, BBC Studios and Warner Bros Discovery. "John will now oversee DAX's podcast sales efforts and support the company's continued growth in the digital audio marketplace." John Brooks has joined Slumber Studios as Head of Content.
