Subject: [wplug-announce] Meeting Mon., May 19 - Blender introduction
The Western Pennsylvania Linux Users Group will be hosting a
presentation on the Blender 3D animation software on Monday, May 19 at
Pittsburgh Filmmakers.
Blender is a Free Software application capable of professional-quality
3D modeling and video editing. The evening's presenter will be Roland
Hess, author of multiple Blender books and member of the Blender
Foundation's Trainer Certification Board.
Two short films will be screened - Big Buck Bunny, which shows off the
character and texture animation capabilities of Blender, and Tears of
Steel, demonstrating how live action and CGI effects can be combined.
Roland will provide an introduction to Blender's capabilities,
including design for 3D printing. He'll give a live demo and describe
how it can be used within a creative workflow.
If that's not enough, we'll be providing free pizza! How can you go
wrong?
We will be in room 104 at Pittsburgh Filmmakers at 477 Melwood Avenue.
The doors will open at 5:00pm, pizza is served at 5:30pm, and the
presentation starts at 6:00pm.
Please register at <http://wplug-blender.eventbrite.com/> so we know
how many people to plan for. To get further details, see
