ISLA Returns to Ghana! In 2016 we deployed an international team of lifeguard instructors, who conducted our most challenging training program consisting of over 120 training course participants. In the end, our ISLA instructors and participants rose to the challenge, and the government established a national rescue unit comprised of various military and public safety personnel. The Ghana National Aquatic Rescue Unit (GNARU) was born! Checkout the pics from our 2016 project: This year our team of International Lifeguards will be working with GNARU to conduct our a 3-day Basic Open water Lifeguard Course in Accra, Ghana. Our ISLA Team will then spend a couple of days shopping, touring, and experiencing the local culture. This will be an adventure you can't miss! Volunteer applications close August 26th. The selection process is highly competitive; apply early to give application an extra edge. |
