| Dear Friends and Supporters, It is with a very heavy heart that I write you today. This is the last email you will receive from the Rectenwald for President campaign.
I want to issue a heartfelt thank you to all of my supporters and contributors. Your generosity and support is greatly appreciated. You made this campaign possible. We came within 41 votes of winning the nomination in a final one-on-one contest against Chase Oliver in round six, after I had won the first five rounds of voting.
Please know that I did everything within my power, including working with a top-notch volunteer debate coach and practicing many hours for the final debate and nomination speech. I won the final debate and certainly my nomination presentation drew the most thunderous applause of any of the candidates.
Unfortunately, a repeated promise was not kept and one of the last candidates to be eliminated threw his votes to Chase Oliver just seconds before the round six voting. Plus, we lost a slew of delegates on Sunday, the day the nomination took place. Many had airline tickets to return home on Sunday and the opposition knew this to be the case. Thus, they threw up a seemingly endless string of parliamentary delays, pushing the vote to Sunday. Had the nomination process taken place on Saturday, as it should have, I would presently be the nominee and would be traveling the country and delivering the most radical message of any presidential candidate in Libertarian Party history—the message the nation so desperately needs to hear and heed. Know that I am not finished and will not quit. The stakes are too high and I have plenty of moxie left in me.
