Hi Mark,

One of the frustrating parts of marketing is that there are very few channels or mediums capable of effectively doing every job your overall marketing strategy needs done.

We can broadly think of those jobs as:

Discovery — Getting in front of your ideal buyers
Nurture — Selling your leads on your POV, approach, and process
Conversion — Selling them on your offer

And when it comes to doing these jobs, every channel has its unique strengths and weaknesses.

Ads and short-form social can get you huge exposure fast…

But without an accompanying nurture channel on the back end, won’t convert to a high-ticket offer on their own.

Podcasting and email are fantastic nurture channels…

But rely on external discovery channels to get new subscribers.

YouTube is perhaps the best balance of discoverability and nurture…

But it will likely take you a year or two of steady experimenting to understand how to dance with the algorithm to uncap that potential.

This, of course, is why so many of us end up creating content across multiple platforms.

Short form or ads for discovery.

Podcasting for nurturing.

Email marketing for conversion.

Don't get me wrong, the system works.

But it's also a lot to maintain.

Especially considering there’s another marketing channel, one of the rare unicorns, that effectively does all three marketing jobs at once.

The channel?

Podcast guesting.

Aside from paid ads, podcast guesting is one of the fastest and most predictable ways to get in front of hundreds of your ideal buyers.

A well-designed and executed guest episode can compress months of traditional nurturing into a single 45-minute episode.

And with the right conversion infrastructure, it’s not uncommon for a single guest episode on a show with just 500 to 1,000 listeners to generate tens of thousands of dollars.

And that’s just on the front end.

Because assuming you already have a podcast and/or email marketing strategy of your own, a great guest episode will add dozens of new leads to your content ecosystem, with many of them converting in the following weeks and months.

One of my clients, Diann, host of ADHD-ish, has spent the past few years building out her podcast guesting footprint and perfectly articulates how an podcast guesting funnel works.

“Nearly every new client now tells me they heard me on another podcast, binged through five episodes of my show, and then booked a discovery call.”

As a result, she’s now got a months-long waitlist, has raised her prices, and her business has never been in a better place.

It’s worth noting Diann isn’t playing the spray-and-pray, maximum-volume guesting game.

Over the past 4 years, she’s guested on around 20 episodes, several of those repeat appearances on the same shows.

Five episodes a year, in other words, that have created a web that consistently helps new leads find her, buy into her process, and sign up to work with her fast.

In addition to the leads and clients, Diann’s guesting has rapidly increased her authority in the ADHD entrepreneur world.

As a result, she’s landed coveted partnerships with big publications in the space, which have led to even more visibility, opportunities, leads, and sales.

Yes, the podcast guesting flywheel is a beautiful thing to behold.

And next week, I’m running a hands-on workshop to help you build out your own podcast guesting system to grow your audience, sales, and authority.

It’s called Spotlight™.

In it, I’ll walk you through the four components of effective podcast guesting for coaches, consultants, and advisors:

  1. Targeting — How to find and filter for the shows that will actually drive results rather than wasting your time on a vanity interview.
  2. Pitching — How to choose angles, tailor hooks, and write pitch emails that get you booked, even on highly competitive shows.
  3. Performance — How to rapidly win over an audience and compel them to follow your owned platforms.
  4. Conversion — How to quickly surface and convert interested buyers while moving the rest of your new leads into your nurture process.

By the end of the workshop, you’ll have a list of high-potency shows to target, a set of compelling angles that will get you booked (and the pitch email template to send them), a standard guest episode outline engineered to earn subscribers and sales, and the outline of your Conversion Conduit to turn leads into clients.

Tickets are just $100. Click here to see what we’re doing and grab a spot.
