Elizabeth stepped up to the sink, with a sense of anticipation and slowly turned on the water. She let it run for about 5 seconds and turned it off. She then turned it on again and broke into tears. When a volunteer tried to comfort her she explained, "These are tears of joy, I prayed for two years that someone would help me and now you are here!" She was thrilled that she would no longer need to collect water in a 5 gallon bucket underneath her sink. She was thankful that these strangers would answer her call for help, and she was sure that she wasn't alone in the desire that her house would be the haven that she wanted to provide for the five grandchildren that she was raising. (See more of Elizabeth's story here!)

This is the work of The Pittsburgh Project, we come alongside of vulnerable homeowners like Elizabeth and work to restore their dignity by investing in the repair of their homes. With your help this year, Elizabeth and more than 100 other homeowners like her will host teams of skilled laborers and volunteers from The Pittsburgh Project. Roofs will be rebuilt, floors installed, plumbing repaired and most importantly love and hope will be shared.

We are looking for 500 people who will support The Pittsburgh Project at the level of $1000 per year or $83.00 per month. (Any size gift is welcome.) Your partnership with us at this level ensures that we can continue to meet the needs of over 100 homeowners and also invest in the youth and families of the north side of Pittsburgh. The summer is our most busy work time, we have gone ahead and started the work and await your investment as the weeks ahead will bring many exciting new projects and also the great expense associated with this work.

Please follow the link below to partner with us!

Thanks and Blessings,

Wayne F. Younger, Executive Director, The Pittsburgh Project
