Yep. It is polo.
The game was played in Ancient China.
I dig seeing the one guy deplicted on the painting on the canvas as if his horse has broken through the surface of the canvas and is falling into another dimension.
Interesting humor.
Today, those in Communist China would have nothing to do with the sport of polo -- a game of 'kings.'
In the 2008 Olympics, all the horse riding events are going to be staged in Hong Kong so as to eliminated the need to bring the livestock and associated foods onto the mainland. They fear a widespread disease.
