Uptown garage closed for good after beam cracks

Now where will those 500 cars park since the biggest Uptown landowner's lots are to be closed because his permits were supposedly not valid?

Beats me?

I've said all along that the Uptown location is a poor location for a hockey venue.

I think that the Uptown area is an excellent location for a new multi-purpose Arena! Where else would they put it and why does everybody keep saying that it is only a "Penguin Hockey" Arena? Uptown desperately needs development because it has been neglected since the race riots in 1968 (White Flight). So, let's see Downtown expand a little East and all get behind the Uptown Rebirth!

Uptown sucks for the new arena.

It is a hockey venue because only hockey wants a new venue. The people that go to Disney on Ice or the Peabody Graduation are just fine with the Civic Arena.

Uptown will NOT develop when the Pens play there. Nobody wants to have 15,000 fans sitting in your front yard for all those nights. Nobody wants to do business there when you can't get your goods to market nor employees home after a day at work.

So, uptown will drag for years to come. It is a bad investment when the Pens reside there and the infrastructure isn't.
