This is the only alpine parrot in the world. He is very cheeky. It is called a "Kea."
They can strip the rubber off a car. Around the windows, the tires, bike tires and even the hoses under the hood of the car. They are destructive buggers.
Grant, Erik and Catherine ran into a bunch of them in Arthur's Pass -- train ride.
