Light at the end of the city's Dems? - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review

Light at the end of the city's Dems? - Pittsburgh Tribune-Review DeSantis, 48, a former aide to Sen. John Heinz, possesses the worldly (i.e., out-of-Pittsburgh) experience and valuable ideas that can reverse Pittsburgh's long, all-Democrat-engineered economic and civic decline.
So, the Trib vallues worldly experience.

Well, the Trib did endorse David Tessitor for Allegheny County Council At-Large. Nice.

Furthermore, for the city controller's race -- the Trib is indifferent. Printing "blindly" as a descriptive word from a Trib editor is ROTFL stuff. (Roll On The Floor Laughing)

The Trib didn't endorse Tessitor for County County because it's a question of credibility.

Perennial candidates who run for virtually any race and never fundraise more than a hundred dollars like Tessitor are NOT supported by the people.

A guy like DeSantis, who will probably raise in the neighborhood of $400,00-$450,000 has a message that resonates with people.

Candidates, even like the wonderfully ecclectic "Mad Dog" Caligiuri doesn't showcase a platform that has many Pittsburgh voters; however, his presentation is interesting enough to draw attention.

It's just silly to think that because someone made it to the ballot they should be considered legitimate candidates. They aren't...or they would have money behind them. That's the ONLY way politics works...or to be taken seriously.

No Tom. You got it wrong.

The Trib DID endorse David Tessitor. See today's paper.

Tessitor is with FAR more credit than the Republican scoundrel he is running against.

You can't put ethics on a financial meter and measure it.

Government is only for the rich.

I look at the worth and dignity of the person and the policies -- not how much can be fleeced from "the people."

Then I misread your original post.

"I look at the worth and dignity of the person and the policies -- not how much can be fleeced from "the people."

I agree...just so you realize that's entirely against how the institute of politics actually works.

Institutions change. I'm fighting the good fight -- quixotic and all -- to fix these wrongs. The city is broken. The city's political landscape is broken. We need to get the mind to lead and the body to follow. Do as we do -- after we say it -- and lead by example!

I'm here to make history, not be a slave of it.

Yadda, yadda, yadda.

Back at ya grasshopper.

Of course you're fighting the good fight...not in search of vanity like so many others.

You also know that without money, third-tier candidates are never taken seriously.
