Candidate: Patrick Dowd at forum last night

His opponent didn't show. Even Twanda showed up that night.

Dowd didn't stay.

He keeps talking about findins ways and coming up with new ideas but he really isn't giving any ways on how he will change anything.

Oh and term limits? I don't think so.

I hate term limits. When someone is in their mandated last term they don't have anyone to be held accountable to. Term limits are a bad idea. Let the voters decide if that candidate is worthy of another term.

Patrick Dowd needs to change his tune on that one.

First, you are held accountable to yourself. Your integrity. If not on this earth, then your maker.

Second, when you enter politics for a period, you leave it -- in good order and you do other things. What you do in your last year is often a clincher to a public service term.

Third, as a principle, I hate term limits. But, I hate the corruption worse. And, most of all, I hate how the power gets to the ones in office who can block ballot access, monopolize media, avoid debates, etc.

Term limits could be a real world bitter pill to fully discuss, debate and open to referendum. I'm not sure, yet, how I'll vote. But the idea has merit.

Finally, did Dowd say he would term limit himself? Toomey did. He gets tons of credit in my book for that.

Furthermore, in the past, I have said I would as well. In 2001, I promised to be a one-term mayor. In 2007, well, you'll have to wait and see what I put into my book.

Good job on the video. Dowd couldn't ask for better.

Thanks.

As for getting something better, Dowd could ask for a debate where he and Len were within the same video clips. But, I'm not a magician.

But, today I heard that Ron Morris got Luke and Dan to appear on his show this summer. And, just 2 days ago, my article about democracy and competition ran in Ron's email blast / newsletter.

Funny how things work from time to time.

If a number of good points are made in favor of Dowd, for instance, Len might be forced to debate.

I can only hope.

And people are going to need to go out of their way to help me one day too, soon. It is hard to be the subject of the video and the video's producer.
