What noone at PAT is really saying publicly is that this is really the first step (camels nose into the tent) of extending light rail service to the North Hills and beyond.
But it doesn't make sense. The move to light-rail to the North Hills should happen on the heavy rail, up 28, past Oakmont. Then another line goes up Rt 8.
Those lines are there now. We're talking about generations to come otherwise.
The other wish upon a star thought is that going to the North Side helps get to the Airport. Wrong way.
