On top of putting Pittsburgh on the map with this type of programming, he has also provided the regions residents with entertaining programs that reveal the history and charm of their hometown. Working at WQED, Rick's documentaries prove that Pittsburgh has much to be proud of.

Rick Sebak is a producer, director, writer and narrator of award-winning documentaries. He has created more than a dozen local programs-known
collectively as The Pittsburgh History Series-helping to exhibit as well as strengthen the Pittsburgh community. Sebak was also recently nominated for
an Emmy award for "Outstanding Writing for Nonfiction Programming" for his PBS special FRED ROGERS: AMERICA'S FAVORITE NEIGHBOR (2004).

In 1988 Rick Sebak quick-started his career at WQED in Pittsburgh by producing and narrating, KENNYWOOD MEMORIES, an award-winning documentary
about the area's historic amusement park. It was not long before Sebak went national: in 1990 his biographical documentary-OUR NEIGHBOR FRED
ROGERS-about our favorite childhood television star, Mr. Rogers, was aired on PBS. Since then, Sebak has created a variety of quirky, informative, and
entertaining programs that have won both local and national acclaim.

Some of Rick Sebak's documentaries that have been aired nationally include AN ICE CREAM PROGRAM (1996), GREAT OLD AMUSEMENT PARKS (1999), A HOT DOG
PROGRAM (1999), PITTSBURGH A TO Z (2001), and A FLEA MARKET DOCUMENTARY (2001). His most recent release, A PROGRAM ABOUT UNUSUAL BUILDINGS & OTHER ROADSIDE ATTRACTIONS, premiered on nationwide PBS stations in July 2004.
